I recently lost a Leopard Gecko to parasites, which was a big shame ( ). I am now thinking of having a Crested Gecko for a new one, and wanted to know about the humidity. A lot of places on the internet suggest a 70-80% humidity, and seeing as my room natrually rests at around 50% i will need to raise this.

I am not at home all the time, and don't want to have to worry about misting it manually, so i was considering a automated system, such as the ultrasonid exo-terra fogger.

I think the addition of moss will help the humidity, but ive heard foggers can raise the humidity too high.

I wanted to ask if a fogger is a good choice for a Crested Gecko? I assume that they can climb the habitat to get away from the dense humidity lower in the cage...
note - when i mention getting a fogger, i will not have it on all the time, just a couple of 30 second bursts a day so the moss is kept damp. I am not concerned about money as £30 is a small price to pay for ensuring a correct environment (in my opinion)

Someone once said that I should let them dry out a little (not completely) so the roots can grow deeper.

I thought about it, but noticed that ever since the misting the plants have been growing so much more. *(I think this is because the mist builds up and gets into the tough soil better than clumps of water from a hose.)

But now I wonder if I should give them a day or two off from the misting?
Will they benefit from that, or should the misting continue?

We drove past one a few months ago, can't remember exactly where it was or what it was called - although I believe it was just outside of East Grinstead. Have googled, can't find anything, I don't want to waste my time searching through the hundreds of garden centres in the UK! Just want the name of the garden centre, just outside east grinstead UK where they sell giant dinosaur models/statues. i think they also sell other animals. and the statues aren't just grey, they're painted in different colours. Thank you for your help!

Thanks!

So I was originally interested in Hydroponics (And I still may revert back to that plan depending on the answers I get here) but then I discovered Aeroponics.

Long story short, I've VERY interested in pursuing this, but I definitely have a couple of questions and hurdles.

1) I can't afford to purchase a ready-made system, and I won't be able to for a very long time. I've found instructions on how to make a very decent one of your own, but the only part I don't understand is how you time it to spray/mist every 15 seconds. Obviously you need a timer, but what kind and how do you attach it?

2) Next, I've gathered that there's some sort of nutrient mix that I'll need to mix into my reservoir. How much will this cost? I know of several hydroponic shops in my city, but I've never gone into one to check.

3) I know of these mandatory things: Keeping the nutrient level right, keeping the pH level right, and keeping the timing of the misters right so the roots stay properly moist. Is there any other major "make or break" thing I should know about that I havent read about?

Thank you very much. (Also, I am very aware there is much more to it than what I'm asking --- I'm simply asking about the parts I do not understand. I understand the rest.)

Have a few annual and perennial herbs in the garden.

Have been using a hose with a nozzle to water them, but I can tell they didn't like that at all, as the spray was too much, and too much water got on the leaves.

Now using a misting system that distributes water evenly, and only mists the leaves, as the water drips into the roots.

The plants are doing much better.

But, usually watering twice a day because it's hot.

Someone said if I let them dry out for a day or two then they'll grow even better, because they roots will grow deeper, as they search for more water.

So should I maybe skip the daily watering routine, and see what happens? I'm hesitant because my plants like the mist and it shows! Especially during this heat wave, hot!
