Looking for information on waterfall pumps?

We would like to put in a waterfall and small pond and are looking for above ground pumps-either home-made or store bought that will handle a 2-3 ft waterfall with a small creek/river that will empty into a pond. Will need to recirculate the water from pond to waterfall.

Are there regulations/restrictions on ponds/water features in Illinois?

I want to build a small pond with a waterfall in my backyard and I want to know if there are any regulations/restrictions that I should concider.

There’s a spring of fresh water on my property, I’d like to do something with it. Any ideas?

For instance a water feature or a small pond. But how do I do that. Right now it is just a mud puddle or when it is real dry, a damp area. Thanks for any and all answers!
